Multi vitamins

Multivitamins help the body get all the required nutrients. They not only have most of the vitamins the body needs but they usually will also supply essential minerals as well. While these supplements are not a substitution for proper nutrition they can be of great benefit to those who struggle to achieve a well-rounded diet.

If a consumer studies the labels of multivitamins they will notice that the amount for each given vitamin varies. This is because the body requires different amounts of each vitamin. It’s important to note that while toxicity of a vitamin is rare it can happen- especially with fat soluble vitamins that are stored in the body, an example of this is vitamin A which can be fatal in excessively large doses.

Minerals can also be found in most multivitamins. Minerals are elements that the body needs for certain functions much like vitamins. Some minerals are required in quantity; some are only needed in trace amounts. Some examples of minerals humans need are calcium, iron, and potassium.
